Head of Business Development

Overview

We are currently supporting a rapidly growing international manufacturer with deep expertise in advanced metal solutions, including aluminium solutions for industrial and automotive applications. To strengthen their European footprint, we are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Head of Business Development to drive growth across OEMs, Tier 1s, and industrial sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all business development activities across Europe, with a focus on strategic growth within the automotive and industrial markets.
  • Build and execute a comprehensive market expansion strategy—including prospecting, client engagement, bid management, and strategic account development.
  • Identify and secure new project opportunities, developing strong relationships with decision-makers across OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and industrial partners.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders—product development, engineering, and executive leadership—to align commercial strategy with operational capabilities.
  • Evaluate market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to influence go-to-market positioning and partnership strategies.
  • Represent the business at trade shows, conferences, and key industry events throughout Europe.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in a business development leadership role within the automotive and/or industrial manufacturing sector
  • 15+ years of experience within aluminium extrusion industry is essential.
  • Deep network across automotive OEMs and Tier 1s in Europe.
  • Strong technical understanding of engineered products, lightweight materials, or component/system manufacturing.
  • Fluent in English and German; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive hunter mentality, and willingness to travel regionally.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-scaling, privately owned environment with high autonomy.
