Supervisor Application Engineer

About the Role

As the Team Leader for Application Engineering, you will play a key role in customer communication, technical consultation, and representing the business externally. Your focus will be on delivering customer-oriented technical advice, ensuring commercial success through increased sales of the product brand.

Working in close cooperation with Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Quality, you will combine technical expertise with customer focus to provide end users with optimal service, fast solutions, and tailored product recommendations.

Your Responsibilities

Customer & Partner Interface

  • Act as the primary technical contact for customers and sales partners worldwide.
  • Serve as an internal liaison across departments, including Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Quality.
  • Promote a strong customer-first approach within the company, building long-term, positive customer relationships and supporting business development activities.

Technical Consultation & Sales Support

  • Coordinate and manage the preparation of quotations, ensuring professional technical advice on product properties, system compatibility, and application-specific requirements.
  • Provide specialist expertise on AODD (Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm) pumps, advising customers on correct sizing, selection, and use cases.
  • Support sales growth and customer acquisition by ensuring technical accuracy and aligning solutions with customer needs.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Provide both technical and disciplinary leadership to the Application Engineering team.
  • Mentor and develop team members to strengthen technical capabilities and customer service performance.
  • Monitor team KPIs (e.g., response times, quotation accuracy, customer satisfaction) and implement improvement measures to achieve targets.

Training & Representation

  • Deliver product training sessions for international customers and sales partners, both remotely and on-site.
  • Represent the company as a technology leader at customer events, training, and industry presentations.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of organizational processes, identifying efficiency opportunities within technical sales support and application engineering.
  • Define and implement measures to enhance customer satisfaction, technical accuracy, and response speed.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
  • Experience working within a Chemical company in a similar role.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a role with significant customer contact, ideally in technically demanding, consultative products.
  • Strong product knowledge and application experience with AODD pumps; familiarity with industrial applications such as chemical processing, water treatment, and general fluid handling.
  • Initial experience in team leadership or supervision is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel (primarily within Europe).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with strong customer orientation.
  • Fluent in German and English (spoken and written).
