As a Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in customer support, field service, and internal product validation/testing. Based in the Duisburg area, you will support customers and sales partners across Europe. Working closely with colleagues in Engineering and Sales, you will combine your technical expertise and customer orientation to deliver reliable service and fast solutions for users of our products.
Responsibilities
Customer Support & Field Service
- Act as the primary technical contact for customers and sales partners in service and maintenance cases.
- Provide support remotely or on-site during commissioning, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs.
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships, serving as a link between external stakeholders and internal teams.
Testing & Validation
- Carry out application-related tests and support internal product validation in R&D laboratories.
- Perform data analysis and diagnostics to identify technical issues at the electrical and mechanical system/component level.
- Support configuration adjustments for products and systems to align with customer requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Manage and document service calls, trials, and test activities, including service reports and product performance data.
- Ensure accurate reporting for both customer orders and internal product validation processes.
Training & Representation
- Deliver product training to customers and sales partners, either in-house or on-site.
Represent the company as a technology leader in front of customers and partners.
Qualifications
- State-certified/recognised technician qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent vocational training).
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a Service Technician, Test Engineer, or similar role in a Chemical goods environment (e.g., commissioning, field service, repair, verification & validation).
- Experience in fault analysis and troubleshooting at both the mechanical and electrical levels.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, circuit diagrams, CAD models, and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of field data analysis and proficiency with relevant digital tools.
- Willingness to travel (primarily within Europe) and possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Strong communication skills in German and English; high customer orientation and collaborative working style.
