We are currently inviting applications from experienced mechanical engineers located in Düsseldorf or Berlin, though the role itself is based in Frankfurt. About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer within the Data Center team, you will lead the mechanical design and delivery of complex, mission-critical infrastructure projects. Working as part of a collaborative, international environment, you’ll contribute to designing efficient and resilient systems that meet evolving industry and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of mechanical systems (HVAC, cooling, PH, fire safety, diesel supply) for medium to large-scale data centers.
- Manage project deliverables across all phases—from concept through to construction supervision and handover.
- Prepare and review technical design documents and drawings.
- Represent technical concepts to diverse audiences, including international clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Coordinate with architects, electrical and structural engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Mentor and support junior engineers while contributing to a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 8+ years of mechanical system design experience in industrial or mission-critical facilities (data center experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of German building codes, HVAC systems, and cooling solutions.
- Experience with Tier Level design standards (Uptime Institute, TÜV), SPOF analysis, and PUE/WUE metrics.
- Proficient with 3D BIM tools such as Revit MEP.
- Skilled in technical due diligence and project coordination.
- Fluent in English; German proficiency is strongly preferred.
- Organized, self-directed, and capable of managing budgets, deadlines, and multiple priorities.
