About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Investment Manager to lead origination, structuring, and execution of investments in wind and photovoltaic (PV) projects across Germany. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of high-value renewable energy transactions, from initial screening through to financial close, and to shape our portfolio in one of Europe’s most dynamic clean energy markets.
The ideal candidate will combine deep sector knowledge, strong financial acumen, and proven transaction leadership skills, with a passion for accelerating the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
Origination & Business Development
- Identify, source, and develop investment opportunities in onshore wind and utility-scale PV projects across Germany.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, utilities, advisors, and industry stakeholders.
- Conduct market and policy analysis to support investment strategy and pipeline development.
Transaction Leadership
- Lead all aspects of the investment process: due diligence, financial modelling, valuation, structuring, negotiations, and execution.
- Manage internal and external advisors (technical, legal, tax, environmental).
- Present investment cases to the Investment Committee and senior leadership.
Portfolio Management
- Oversee the performance and value optimisation of existing wind and PV assets.
- Identify opportunities for refinancing, repowering, or divestment.
- Monitor regulatory developments and their potential impact on the portfolio.
Team & Stakeholder Engagement
- Mentor junior team members, supporting their professional growth.
- Collaborate with technical, legal, and finance teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and in discussions with policymakers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline; MBA or CFA is a plus.
- 7+ years’ experience in renewable energy investments, corporate finance, or project finance, with a strong track record in wind and PV transactions.
- In-depth understanding of German renewable energy market regulations, incentives, and grid considerations.
- Proven ability to structure complex transactions and lead negotiations to successful close.
- Strong financial modelling skills and proficiency with valuation methodologies.
- Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
