Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and results-driven Production Planning & Logistics Manager to lead supply chain operations and production scheduling at our Duisburg manufacturing site. You’ll be responsible for optimizing the balance between customer demand, production efficiency, and material flow—ensuring delivery performance, cost control, and inventory accuracy across value streams.
About the Role
As the key link between manufacturing, customer service, logistics, and procurement, you’ll lead cross-functional planning and oversee the flow of materials from receiving through to final shipment. You’ll guide your team to continuously improve scheduling accuracy, capacity alignment, and supply chain performance while championing Lean principles and digital reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the production planning process across multiple value streams.
- Lead planning and logistics teams to ensure effective inventory, order execution, and delivery tracking.
- Develop a live production planning dashboard and monitor key KPIs (OEE, lead times, WIP aging).
- Create and maintain achievable yet ambitious production plans using MRP and ERP tools.
- Oversee receiving, material handling, inventory control, and shipping operations.
- Act as the main coordinator between planning, manufacturing, and purchasing to align capacity and material availability.
- Support the launch of new products, ensuring manufacturing readiness, cost control, and cycle time adherence.
- Lead Lean/5S initiatives and participate in continuous improvement and obsolescence reduction efforts.
- Analyze and mitigate risks, ensure accurate BOMs and production data, and drive standardization.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and logistics strategy across the plant.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, inventory management, logistics, or supply chain roles.
- Deep knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP Business Suite preferred).
- APICS certification preferred.
- Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-Time, and demand planning methodologies.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong leadership, people management, and change facilitation skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Fluent in English and German is highly desirable.
- Must be able to work onsite in Duisburg.
