About the Role
A global industrial engineering company is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to drive strategic customer relationships and manage technical sales within the steel and long-products sector. This is a permanent, full-time position, involving international client exposure and high autonomy in project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ongoing customer satisfaction analyses
- Build and maintain regular client contact through on-site visits
- Coordinate communication across internal teams and external stakeholders
- Negotiate with clients, suppliers, and partners on technical and commercial terms
- Collaborate closely with regional and project management teams
- Secure new business through lead generation and consultative selling
- Present and negotiate technical proposals to domestic and international clients
- Monitor and report on market trends and competitor activity
- Provide regular reporting to executive leadership and the parent company
Requirements
- Several years of technical sales experience, ideally in long-products or steel manufacturing
- Strong network and understanding of the steel/metal industry
- Proven ability to negotiate and close complex technical deals
- Strong familiarity with contract law and business negotiation
- Previous experience in key account management preferred
- German and English fluency at C1 level
- Digitally literate with relevant industry-specific systems knowledge
- High willingness to travel (approximately 70%)
