A fast-growing international renewable energy developer and independent power producer with a strong presence across Europe and expanding operations in LATAM and APAC. The organisation develops and operates utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects with a long-term ownership strategy and strong ESG focus.

We are seeking an experienced Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) to lead procurement, supply chain, and sourcing strategy across a rapidly expanding renewable energy portfolio.

This executive leadership role will oversee procurement activities across the full project lifecycle from development and EPC through construction and operations, ensuring resilient, cost-effective, and bankable supply strategies for utility-scale renewable energy projects.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in strategic sourcing within solar, wind, and/or BESS markets, alongside a proven track record negotiating major OEM and EPC agreements at GW scale.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Governance

  • Define and implement procurement strategy aligned with growth targets and project pipeline
  • Develop category strategies across:
    • Solar modules
    • Inverters
    • Wind turbines
    • BESS systems
    • EPC and BoP contracts
    • O&M services
    • Logistics
  • Establish procurement governance, compliance standards, and sourcing policies
  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) optimisation and value engineering initiatives

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Build and manage executive relationships with Tier-1 OEMs, EPCs, and strategic suppliers
  • Lead framework agreements and multi-year supply negotiations
  • Develop alternative sourcing strategies to mitigate geopolitical and supply chain risks
  • Support innovation initiatives across hybridisation, repowering, and digital asset management

Project Procurement Delivery

  • Oversee procurement execution from development through commercial operation date (COD)
  • Ensure bankable contractual structures including:
    • Warranties
    • Liquidated damages (LDs)
    • Performance guarantees
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Legal, and Finance teams during tendering and award phases
  • Support investment committees with procurement and market intelligence

Supply Chain Risk & ESG

  • Anticipate supply constraints across key equipment markets
  • Develop dual-sourcing and supply resilience strategies
  • Monitor trade regulations, tariffs, ESG compliance, and EU policy developments
  • Embed ESG, sustainability, and supplier governance standards into procurement processes

Leadership & Capability Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing procurement organisation
  • Implement procurement excellence tools, dashboards, SRM processes, and KPI frameworks
  • Foster a collaborative, commercially driven, and delivery-focused culture

Your Profile

  • 15+ years of procurement and supply chain experience
  • Minimum 7+ years within: Renewable energy, Energy infrastructure or Utility-scale power projects
  • Proven experience sourcing: Solar PV equipment, Wind turbines, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Strong experience negotiating: EPC contracts, OEM framework agreements, Long-term supply agreements
  • Deep understanding of: LCOE, IRR impact, Bankability considerations, Global supply chain risk
  • Executive-level stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities
  • Engineering, Supply Chain, or related degree (MBA advantageous)
  • Fluent in French and English
