About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee the financial operations and reporting activities of our manufacturing site in Louka u Litvínova, Czech Republic. This role will ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across accounting functions while supporting strategic financial planning and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, VAT (Czech, EU), control statements, cost accounting.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards. Transition to IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Coordination of planning and budgeting and responsibility for result projections.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Practical support for financial and management accounting in the planning, budgeting and projection process.
  • Coordinate and support external audits, cooperation with auditors as necessary.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with tax regulations and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems and procedures.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and industry best practices.
  • Daily operations in QAD system and process optimization.

 

General Responsibilities

  • The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and performing internal controls.
  • Supervising the accounting team, coordinating audits, and supporting financial planning and analysis.
  • This position is also responsible for carrying out any other work activities at the plant related to the role, as instructed by direct supervisor or the Managing Director.

Your Profile

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience in an accounting leadership position, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with QAD or similar ERP systems.
Excellent understanding of tax compliance and audit coordination.
Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
