We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager with experience in heavy civil and infrastructure construction to support the successful delivery of highway, bridge, roadway, paving, and utility projects across Texas.
This role will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to coordinate project execution from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting TXDOT or municipal infrastructure projects and thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with the planning and execution of highway, bridge, roadway, paving, and utility projects.
- Support project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking activities.
- Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and contract documents.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and field personnel to maintain project schedules and productivity.
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Track quantities, production rates, and daily project progress.
- Assist with procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontract agreements.
- Support owner and client communications including TXDOT representatives, consultants, and municipal agencies.
- Participate in project meetings, preconstruction planning, and site walks.
- Monitor project safety, quality control, and environmental compliance efforts.
- Assist with invoice processing, pay applications, and project reporting.
- Help resolve field issues and coordinate between engineering, operations, and field teams.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience working on TXDOT, municipal, bridge, roadway, paving, or utility projects preferred.
- Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Project.
- Experience with Primavera P6, Bluebeam, HCSS, B2W, or similar construction software preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with field and office teams.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
