Supplier Quality Engineer
We are currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for a role based in Serbia.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supplier Assessment and Selection:
- Evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, capability, capacity, and reliability to ensure they meet automotive industry standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with quality management systems and identify areas for improvement.
Supplier Development and Improvement:
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop and implement quality improvement plans, including corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), to address non-conformances and quality issues.
- Provide guidance and support to suppliers in implementing quality management systems and best practices to enhance product quality and reliability.
Quality Assurance:
- Establish and maintain quality requirements, specifications, and standards for purchased components and materials in accordance with automotive industry regulations (e.g., IATF 16949) and customer-specific requirements.
- Conduct incoming inspection and testing of components to verify conformance to specifications and identify opportunities for process optimization.
Supplier Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor supplier performance metrics, including quality, delivery, and cost, to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to performance targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address performance issues and drive resolution of supplier-related quality concerns.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess risks associated with suppliers, components, and materials, and develop risk mitigation plans to prevent quality issues and supply chain disruptions.
- Implement supplier qualification and validation processes to ensure the selection of reliable and capable suppliers.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, to align supplier quality requirements with overall business objectives and product requirements.
- Serve as a quality representative in supplier meetings and communicate quality-related requirements and expectations to suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in supplier quality engineering roles within the automotive industry, with a strong understanding of supplier quality management processes and methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive quality standards and regulations, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
- Experience in conducting supplier audits, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) and familiarity with automotive industry trends and technologies are preferred
