SMS Mechanical Development Engineer

We are looking for a mechanical engineer with experience in the photovoltaic (PV) sector, ideally with a background in R&D for PV-Trackers. You will tackle mechanical challenges and contribute to innovative solutions while collaborating with your team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve PV-Racking Systems, focusing on both PV-Tracking & Fixed Tilted systems.
• Identify and validate creative solutions to mechanical problems.
• Build and run prototypes in Germany and/or other European countries, conducting hands-on testing and validation of products.
• Collaborate with suppliers to discuss technical feasibility and enhance product manufacturability.
• Engage with customers and installers to address technical inquiries, with occasional travel required for site visits.
• Conduct testing both at our headquarters and various project sites mainly in Europe.

Education:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

• Experience in mechanical engineering of PV-Racking Systems (Fixed Tilt and/or PV-Tracker).
• Development experience with mechanical products and prototypes.
• Familiarity with mechanical testing of components and systems.
• Experience with Tracker Control Systems (Advantage)
• Knowledge of product documentation (operation manuals) and machine certification processes. (Advantage)
• Basic experience with 3D printing technologies. (Advantage)
