Senior Power Electronics Electrical Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Draft circuit schematics and the technical documentation that goes with them
• Assist interdisciplinary design teams working on packaging and mechanical design of electrical goods and components
• Execute circuit simulations, DFMEA, power dissipation calculations, electrical circuit analysis, worst case circuit analysis, and schematic capture
• Create mathematical models for power circuit characterization
• Share technical project status information both internally and internationally
• Assist in product development by documenting hardware requirements so that products can be created that satisfy design specifications from customers
• Create circuit schematics and associated technical documentation

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Electrical engineering bachelor’s degree or a closely related field
• Preferred to have a power electronics-focused MS or PhD
• five years of experience in the engineering field, ideally eight or more.
• Preferable previous experience in the automotive sector
• Want to work with some of the best automakers in the world as an automotive power electronics engineer on a highly trained team developing the next generation of electrified vehicles.
• Understanding power electronics circuits and how they work for applications in hybrid electric vehicles
• familiarity with and understanding of high voltage power semiconductor device technologies, including SiC MOSFETs and Silicon IGBTs
• An understanding of the drive systems and applications for electric and hybrid vehicles
• Experience designing power electronics is preferred for projects involving hybrid electric vehicles.
• preferred familiarity with CAD tools for PCB layout and circuit schematic
• Excellent written and verbal communication is preferred
