Senior Design Manager

Copenhagen, Capital Region of Denmark, Denmark (On-site) Full Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams through all project phases (from concept to IFC).
  • Develop and manage design delivery programs, milestones, and key deliverables in alignment with overall project schedules.
  • Act as primary interface between the design team and the client, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure technical design aligns with performance goals—resilience, sustainability, energy efficiency, and operational uptime (e.g., Tier III/IV).
  • Manage design change processes, risk registers, and coordination workshops (e.g., BIM clashes, interface resolution).
  • Work closely with commercial and project controls teams to monitor scope, budget, and change impacts.
  • Promote a culture of design excellence, innovation, and digital delivery (e.g., BIM, data-driven design).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered or working toward chartership (CIBSE, RIBA, ICE, etc.) preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in design/project management, with a minimum of 3 years in data centre or mission-critical environments.
  • Proven ability to lead integrated design teams on large-scale, complex technical projects.
  • Strong understanding of data centre design drivers: power, cooling, redundancy (N+1, 2N), scalability, and security.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, TIA-942, and BICSI.
  • Experience working with digital tools: BIM (Revit/Navisworks), scheduling (MS Project/Primavera), and collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM360).
