About the Role: A leading manufacturer in the automotive industry is seeking a skilled Quality Manager to lead and oversee all quality-related operations at their site. This role involves direct management of quality planning, assurance, and engineering functions. With a strong emphasis on automotive industry standards, the Quality Manager will work closely with a team of quality professionals to ensure that all production meets stringent industry and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management & Compliance: Oversee daily quality operations, ensuring adherence to APQP, PPAP, and IATF standards. Maintain the site’s high standards in quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
  • Leadership & Team Oversight: Lead and mentor a team of 8 direct reports, including quality planning, assurance, and engineering professionals. Coordinate and assign tasks, ensuring all quality objectives are met efficiently.
  • Customer & Supplier Interface: Serve as the main point of contact for quality-related issues with customers, including major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Process Improvement: Drive initiatives in quality control processes, including 8D reports, root cause analysis, and process validation, to continually improve product quality and efficiency.
  • Production Processes: Oversee quality standards across automated production processes such as crimping, welding, CNC milling, turning, grinding, and super-finishing operations.
  • New Product Quality Management: Support new product launches by managing quality planning and processes to ensure compliance with customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to monitor quality metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in quality management within the automotive or precision manufacturing industry, ideally focused on engine components or powertrain parts.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of automation and advanced manufacturing processes such as CNC operations, grinding, assembly, and high-precision component manufacturing.
  • Certifications: Knowledge of IATF 16949 and FMEA is essential; EHS knowledge is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis and experience with MES for tracking production and quality metrics.
  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage the team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
