RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • System Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive solar PV system designs, including array layouts, system sizing, electrical components, and balance of system (BOS) components.
  • Technical Analysis: Conduct thorough technical assessments, feasibility studies, and energy yield predictions for proposed solar PV projects to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Engineering Support: Provide technical support to project development teams, assisting with project planning, equipment selection, and design optimization to meet project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Permitting and Compliance: Work closely with regulatory bodies and local authorities to ensure adherence to all relevant codes, standards, and permitting requirements for PV projects.
  • Site Assessments: Perform site visits and assessments to gather essential data, evaluate potential project risks, and identify opportunities for project optimization.
  • Energy Storage Integration: Collaborate with energy storage specialists to integrate energy storage systems with solar PV installations to maximize energy utilization and grid stability.
  • Procurement Support: Offer technical guidance during the procurement process, evaluating bids and selecting reliable PV equipment suppliers that meet project specifications and performance criteria.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures throughout the PV project lifecycle, ensuring that installations are compliant, safe, and meet the highest quality standards.
  • Commissioning and Testing: Oversee the commissioning process, conduct testing procedures, and troubleshoot any technical issues to ensure the successful operation of PV systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical documentation, project reports, and performance evaluations, providing accurate and timely project status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Industry Research: Stay abreast of emerging PV technologies, trends, and best practices to continually improve the company’s services and offerings.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Champion HSE principles within the team and on-site, promoting a safety-first culture and adhering to environmental guidelines during project execution

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus
  • Proven experience as a PV Engineer or in a related solar energy role within the EPC industry
  • Strong knowledge of PV system design, solar energy technology, and grid integration principles
  • Familiarity with PV system simulation software, such as PVsyst or Helioscope
  • Sound understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations related to solar PV projects
  • Experience in conducting technical analyses, feasibility studies, and energy yield predictions.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVSyst, or other relevant engineering software
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges effectively
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • A proactive and result-oriented approach, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
