Project Executive
SOME RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Offers executive oversight for one or more technically challenging or highly valuable projects
- Takes up the Sr. Project Manager’s responsibilities and job obligations
- Collaborate with Human Resources to find, screen, and hire the right amount of personnel for your business unit
- Supervise and instruct the personnel working in the business unit in compliance with the procedures
- Proactively execute business development and customer retention efforts
- Work together with the vice president to build a business development strategy and yearly revenue targets for the business
- Help the PMs and Superintendents resolve certain problems and request
- Represent the business group at meetings with senior management and create pertinent reporting
- Ensure that each employee involved in the project adheres to and comprehends our interpretation of the project’s guidelines and contract papers
- Regularly visit project sites to communicate with the project manager, area superintendent, and project engineers to confirm project status, assess expenses, and offer assistance in navigating challenges that could impair the project’s financial success
- Monitor job progress, assist in cost to complete estimates, and man-hour to complete estimates as needed
- Anticipate and communicate potential long lead item delays to prevent possible disruptions in the production schedule
- Monitor the PM and PE’s material ordering and that vendor supplied material is cost competitive
- Anticipate risks and manage final negotiations on legal claims
- Control financial responsibility by ensuring labor, material, equipment and subcontract budgets are achieved
- Perform other special projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7+ years directly involved with contract plans/specs and project accounting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related degree a plus
- Proven experience directly managing and motivating employees
- Proficiency in MS Office / O365 applications
- Business to Business (B2B) sales and customer retention efforts
- Strong ability to learn new technology
- 9+ years of experience in electrical project management
- Successful graduation of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or long-term experience in the electrical industry in a variety of capacities
