Principal Functional Safety Engineer

TASKS:

Hardware Design and Verification:

• Collaborate with hardware design and verification teams to ensure safety-related requirements are incorporated into the hardware design process
• Review and assess hardware designs for safety and reliability

Mentorship and Training:

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to the development of the safety engineering team

Safety Analysis:

• Perform safety analysis activities, including Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), for hardware components

Continious Improvement:

• Drive continuous improvement of safety processes and methodologies, staying up-to-date with industry best practices and standards

Functional Safety Leadership:

• Serve as the subject matter expert on fucntional safety, providing guidance to enginerring teams and stakeholders
• Lead and guide cross-functional teams in undertsanding and implementing functional safety requuirements in hardware development projects.

Documenation and Reporting:

• Create and maintain safety documentation, including safety plans, safety manuals, and safety case reports

Safety Standards Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, particularly ISO 26262, and support safety assessments and audits

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience as a Functional Safety Engineer, with a strong focus on hardware
• Experience with sfety analysis echniques such as HARA, FTA and FMEA
• Strong understadning of hardware design and verification processes
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work collaborat8ively in a cross-fucntional team evironment
• Relevant certifications in functional safety
• In depth knowldge of safety standards, particularly ISO 26262.
