Principal Functional Safety Engineer
TASKS:
Hardware Design and Verification:
- Collaborate with hardware design and verification teams to ensure safety-related requirements are incorporated into the hardware design process
- Review and assess hardware designs for safety and reliability
Mentorship and Training:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to the development of the safety engineering team
Safety Analysis:
- Perform safety analysis activities, including Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), for hardware components
Continious Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement of safety processes and methodologies, staying up-to-date with industry best practices and standards
Functional Safety Leadership:
- Serve as the subject matter expert on fucntional safety, providing guidance to enginerring teams and stakeholders
- Lead and guide cross-functional teams in undertsanding and implementing functional safety requuirements in hardware development projects.
Documenation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain safety documentation, including safety plans, safety manuals, and safety case reports
Safety Standards Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, particularly ISO 26262, and support safety assessments and audits
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience as a Functional Safety Engineer, with a strong focus on hardware
- Experience with sfety analysis echniques such as HARA, FTA and FMEA
- Strong understadning of hardware design and verification processes
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaborat8ively in a cross-fucntional team evironment
- Relevant certifications in functional safety
- In depth knowldge of safety standards, particularly ISO 26262.
