Power Electronics System Lead Engineer
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Design and tune control loops
- Onboarding and training new Hardware Engineers
- Identify design optimization’s or cost reduction opportunities
- Lead problem solving and redesign activities: hardware issues, customer claims and PCNs among others.
- Technical support on site during Functional, EE and EMC test setup and testing
- Contribution ideas and design concepts for mechatronics integration
- Power Electronics design justification and test plan definition
- Strong and frictionless cooperation with other Hardware and Power Electronics Engineers of the department
- Power Electronics architecture definition to fulfill the product and system requirements
- Power Electronics design justification and test plan definition
- Tasks delegation and process monitoring
- Power Electronics detailed design, simulation and commissioning of prototypes
- Technical interface with the customer and production plant
- Power Electronics component selection and magnetics specification.
YOUR PROFILE:
- Degree in Physics / Electronics / Telecommunication Engineering or similar.
- 5-10 years of experience developing Power Electronics for On Board Charges, HV/LV DC/DC converters or Traction Inverters for automotive applications.
- Background in functional, electrical, EMC, and thermal technologies for electronic design validation.
- Knowledge of standard electronic design analysis and verification (Derating analysis, Worst Case Analysis, Reliability calculation, FMEDA).
- Interacting with clients and negotiation skills.
- Experience coordinating a HW development team.
- Languages: English and Spanish, German is a plus
- Knowledge of functional safety (ISO26262) is a plus.
- Inter-personal communication and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of electronic schematics, e-Layout, mechanical design, 3D models, 2D drawings, bill of materials, validation plans, validation methods, and automotive quality deliverables.
- Knowledge of Automotive ASPICE processes
- Technical background in automotive power electronics design and implementation:
- Circuit simulation with LTSpice or PSIM.
- Analog, digital and power circuits design.
- Deep knowledge of PFC and LLC-Resonant power stages.
- Capability to design and tune control loops.
- Losses calculation for semiconductors, inductors, transformers, CMCs, capacitors, PCB tracks, busbars and cables.
- Thermal stack-up design.
- Power electronics integration in mechanical assemblies (mechatronics integration).
- Knowledge of EMC design rules.
- Mission profile calculation for electrolytic capacitors.
- Problem solving techniques like 8D and FTA
