Occupational Safety Specialist

RESPONSIBILIITES:

  • Development of safety concepts and investigation of occupational accidents
  • Occupational safety inspections and control of the training status of the employees as well as employee instructions
  • Creation of presentations, documentation and evaluations
  • Maintenance of the hazardous substances register and the database for operating instructions
  • Preparation of risk assessments
  • Control and documentation of compliance with occupational health and safety and accident prevention regulations
  • Safety-related inspection of operating and work equipment
  • Training of employees in the topics of occupational safety
  • Advising the employer on all topics of occupational health and safety and accident prevention in accordance with ASiG ยง 6
  • Maintaining contact with occupational health and safety, licensing and supervisory authorities as well as accident insurance institutions

QUALIFICATONS:

  • Good knowledge of English
  • Several years of professional experience (also across locations) as a specialist in occupational safety and environmental protection
  • Structured way of working, good time management
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations in the field of occupational safety
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Successfully completed studies in the field of environmental, hygiene and safety engineering or in the fields of process engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or comparable with additional training as an occupational safety specialist
  • Mastery of quality techniques and tools for problem solving
  • Further training as a waste officer, water protection officer, immission control officer and dangerous goods officer or the willingness to undergo further training in a timely manner are desirable
