Chief Information Officer

Germany - Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the IT and digital transformation efforts within our manufacturing organization in Germany. The CIO will be responsible for shaping and executing the company’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, optimizing operations, and driving innovation to maintain a competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT and digital transformation strategy aligned with the company’s objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify technology-driven opportunities to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new technologies, such as Industry 4.0 solutions, IoT, and AI, to improve manufacturing processes.

2. IT Operations and Infrastructure

  • Oversee the management and maintenance of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Ensure scalability and reliability of IT systems to support current and future business operations.
  • Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect company data and systems.

3. Digital Transformation

  • Lead the adoption of digital tools and platforms to optimize manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
  • Champion the use of data analytics and predictive modeling to support decision-making across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of digital innovation and continuous improvement.

4. Budgeting and Resource Management

  • Prepare and manage the IT department’s budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with technology vendors and service providers.

5. Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing IT team, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration between IT and other departments, including production, finance, and logistics.

6. Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with relevant German and EU data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Identify and mitigate technology-related risks in collaboration with other departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies, including ERP systems, MES, IoT, and Industry 4.0 solutions.
  • Expertise in digital transformation and data analytics.
  • Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
