HV Substation Project Manager

Your new role:
To join our Transmission and Distribution (T&D) department, we are looking for a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager (HV design). Project managing pre-construction (and occasionally construction) operations for large-scale high-voltage infrastructure, grid connections, and private networks at voltage levels up to 400 kV is the main responsibility of this position.
Feasibility, optioneering, FEED, detailed design, and design assurance are typical project types for new or existing substations and associated infrastructure.
Your required skills:
- Knowledge of the operation and controls of electrical plant components and related systems, including reactors, power transformers, STATCOM, AIS/GIS switchgear, HVAC and HVDC interconnectors, and HV Protection & Control.
- Proven track record leading design teams for transmission or distribution power projects from feasibility studies to detailed design and pre-construction project lifecycle.
- Experience developing HV/EHV substation projects, including drawing up overall site layouts for the substation, designing AIS/GIS switchyards and buildings, protection and control rooms, MV rooms, transformers, and reactive compensation equipment, among other things.
- 7+ years of experience managing major construction or high-voltage power projects.
- Previous involvement with large utilities or developers.
- Prior design or project engineering experience.
- Project budget management expertise.
- The capacity to work adaptably on a variety of projects.
