Director of Business Development Europe

Bavaria, Germany (Hybrid)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create customer-facing proposals, material, and strategy, and contribute to it. This will help the sales team win customer pursuits
  • Utilising a set of agreed-upon key performance indicators for delivery, track the business development team’s performance
  • Drive pre-sales interaction of the company’s goods with EU OEM clients; in this role, you will collaborate with the teams in charge of the product and customer business units to persuade the OEM client to accept product offerings. You and your team are essential in gaining OEM trust and being recognised as a strategic partner rather than just another supplier for these items
  • Find and assess potential new business ventures, decide on an OEM-specific sales strategy, and develop value propositions for each product line that address the needs and preferences of the relevant OEMs
  • Create and manage a chase pipeline for each client, detailing opportunities and client engagements. Give the executive team monthly input on the state of client involvement. Establish partnership goals by projecting expected sales volume for each of the new strategic goods, forecasting and developing annual targets by OEM and region
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the automotive landscape, OEM changes, rival products, and collaborations
  • Ensure that the products constantly enjoy market leadership and provide our OEM customers with value that is unmatched by the competition by developing a deep grasp of the OEM demands and driving the voice of the customer into product and technology roadmaps
  • Work together with the product marketing team to promote OEM product awareness through press releases, marketing campaigns, and demo cars that demonstrate product maturity

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 years of overall experience which includes 5+ years of business development experience with at least 5 years in the Automotive sector
  • Experienced and skilled in building relationships, selling, and negotiating with customer executives
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Able to communicate a compelling vision and is committed to what needs to be done and possesses a make-it-happen mindset
  • Willing to travel up to 30% domestic and 15% international travel
  • Must have strong organizational and planning skills. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong business sense will be necessary for you to assess not just what can be done but also what can be lucrative, which is a crucial prerequisite for this position.
