The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of satellite systems, proven experience in managing complex space missions, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of space technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mission Design and System Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of satellite systems for various missions, ensuring integration across all subsystems (power, propulsion, communications, attitude control, etc.).
  • End-to-End Satellite Development: Oversee the full lifecycle of satellite development, from initial concept and design to testing, integration, and in-orbit operation.
  • Subsystem Integration: Coordinate with subsystem engineers to ensure proper integration of payloads, structures, power systems, thermal control, and propulsion systems into the overall satellite platform.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring best practices are followed in satellite design, testing, and mission execution.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Interface with customers, stakeholders, and partners to define mission requirements, and ensure the delivery of reliable, high-performance satellite systems.
  • Verification & Validation: Lead testing campaigns, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), environmental testing, and system-level verification and validation to ensure satellite readiness for launch and deployment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in space technology, materials, and engineering practices, and apply innovative solutions to improve satellite system performance and reliability.
  • Mission Operations Support: Support the operations team in the commissioning and long-term performance monitoring of the satellite once deployed.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in satellite systems engineering, with a strong focus on small satellites or cubesats.
  • Proven track record in end-to-end satellite mission development, from concept design to in-orbit operation.
  • Strong understanding of satellite subsystems, including power, communications, attitude control, propulsion, and thermal systems.
  • Experience in systems engineering processes (requirements definition, system architecture, integration, verification, and validation).
  • Familiarity with satellite simulation tools (e.g., STK, MATLAB/Simulink) and spacecraft design software.
  • Experience working with small satellite platforms and hands-on experience with hardware testing and integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to engage with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cubesat or smallsat missions.
  • Knowledge of space environment effects on satellite systems and experience in mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with ground station operations and telemetry tracking.

Experience with RF systems and satellite communications.
