Advanced Quality Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advanced Quality Planning:
- Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities to ensure early identification and mitigation of quality risks throughout the product development process.
- Develop and maintain control plans, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other quality documentation to ensure compliance with automotive industry standards.
Supplier Quality Management:
- Evaluate supplier quality performance and conduct supplier audits to ensure adherence to automotive quality standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement in supplier processes and products.
Quality Assurance:
- Establish and maintain quality standards and procedures in accordance with automotive industry regulations (e.g., IATF 16949) and customer requirements.
- Implement inspection and testing protocols to verify product conformance and identify opportunities for process optimization.
Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions:
- Lead root cause analysis investigations using methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, or similar approaches to identify and address the root causes of quality issues.
- Develop and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence of quality issues and improve overall product quality.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to address quality concerns and drive improvements in product design, manufacturing processes, and supplier performance.
- Serve as a quality representative in cross-functional meetings and communicate quality-related requirements and objectives to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize quality processes, reduce defects, and enhance overall product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Utilize quality metrics, data analysis, and feedback from internal and external stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in quality engineering roles within the automotive industry, with a focus on advanced quality planning, supplier quality management, and root cause analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive quality standards and regulations, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and 8D.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) and familiarity with automotive industry trends and technologies are preferred.
