System Project Lead

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Interact with customers directly and engage in technical discussions on the definition of the product, the distribution of the needs, and its development, taking into account the system’s expected behavior’s.
  • Inform Engineering Management of the technical state of the project both internally and outside
  • Take the lead in technical talks for client change requests, including the change’s effects on cost and timing
  • Help monitoring product reliability and warranty. If issues occur, participate in root cause analysis, and help determine and implement corrective actions
  • Balance system level tradeoffs between power electronics, eMotor, and mechanical components
  • Leads and oversee the international engineering project team as they carry out a project or a family of products
  • Establish timetables for product engineering, and monitor and report progress
  • Accountable to Programme Management for all engineering deliverables
  • Lead reviews of the system requirements, architecture, and integration
  • Liaise with program management to ensure integration of tasks across organization
  • ASPICE, functional safety, and cyber security standards must be followed, supported, and improved in the engineering process for supported products
  • Support development of internal product specifications based on customer requirements or market needs
  • Specify project resource needs and compare actual to approved levels

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with focus on electric drive systems; power electronics and/or motors
  • Specific experience in to ASPICE, functional safety, and cyber security standards and relevant processes to ensure adherence to industry requirements
  • Some travel (less than 20%) and a flexible work schedule on occasion
  • 7+ years experience as project manager/technical project manager in automotive industry
  • Knowledge of safety analysis for automotive systems, ISO 26262 Functional Safety, DFMEA, FMEA, FMEDA and FTA analysis
  • Understanding of hybrid and electric vehicle operating modes, system dimensioning tradeoffs and packaging constraints
  • 10+ years of automotive industry experience with progressive increases in responsibility
  • 5+ years of experience in power electronics, eMotors, driveline, hardware and software development
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills in English
  • Broad engineering background with expertise in complicated systems involving software, power electronics, electrical machines, and mechatronics.
