  • Bavaria, Germany
  • Full-time - Hybrid

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished and technically driven Head of Power Module Development to lead the design and industrialization of next-generation high-power modules. This hybrid role, based in Germany, requires direct experience in module design and development and offers an opportunity to shape the future of power electronics across industries, including automotive, renewable energy, and manufacturing.

As a cross-functional leader, you will oversee the entire product lifecycle – from concept through to mass production – while driving innovation, performance, and reliability in complex module architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle development of power modules from initial product definition to volume manufacturing.
  • Build and manage best-in-class modeling and simulation capabilities to accelerate development.
  • Direct and lead DFMEA across all development programs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams from proof-of-concept through scale-up to ensure yield, quality, and manufacturability.
  • Establish and evaluate key design trade-offs between performance and cost.
  • Manage relationships with external contract manufacturers and drive co-development projects.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for product failures and drive corrective actions.
  • Ensure designs meet quality and reliability standards, including JEDEC and AEC-Q100.
  • Develop and execute DOEs with strong statistical backing.
  • Provide design input to mitigate issues related to frontend-backend interactions.
  • Support industrial operations including ramp-up, cost modeling, and supplier negotiation.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in designing and developing high-power modules (must-have).
  • Strong understanding of power discretes, packaging, and thermal management.
  • Proven background in electromechanical modeling, DFM, DFMEA, and simulation.
  • Familiarity with automotive qualification standards (e.g. AEC-Q100).
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical quality methodologies.
  • Collaborative, cross-disciplinary mindset with experience working across R&D, supply chain, and operations.
