EHS Manager (Germany)

About the Role
A strategic opportunity for an experienced safety leader to shape and lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives at a major industrial manufacturing site. This role combines operational oversight with long-term EHS planning, championing safety culture, sustainability, and regulatory compliance at both site and corporate levels.
Responsibilities
- Advise leadership and staff on best practices in occupational safety, health, and environmental protection.
 - Design and implement legally compliant and safe workplace procedures and initiatives.
 - Define, track, and report on key environmental and safety KPIs and objectives.
 - Lead incident prevention and root cause analysis; implement effective corrective measures.
 - Organize and deliver internal EHS audits and employee training programs.
 - Manage emergency preparedness plans and hazardous material handling.
 - Ensure readiness and compliance with ISO certifications (14001, 45001, 50001).
 - Lead internal and external audits and support certification efforts.
 - Promote sustainability initiatives and drive continuous improvement using Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
 
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
 - Bachelor’s degree with certification as “Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit” (Occupational Safety Specialist).
 - Additional Fire Protection Officer training is a plus.
 - Deep understanding of German EHS regulations and legal requirements.
 - Bilingual fluency in German and English.
 - Demonstrated experience with Lean principles and continuous improvement frameworks.
 - Background in sustainability and multi-stakeholder engagement is highly desirable.
