About the Role
We are hiring a Commercial Excellence Director to lead top-line transformation for industrial portfolio companies in the U.S., with a base in Michigan. If you have a proven track record in sales optimization, pricing strategy, and restructuring within the automotive sector, this role offers the opportunity to drive real enterprise value through hands-on operational leadership.
As a key member of the performance improvement team within a leading European investment firm, you’ll work directly with U.S.-based portfolio companies to analyze, redesign, and implement commercial strategies that unlock sustainable growth. You will play a central role in turnaround efforts post-acquisition and drive measurable improvement in sales execution, pricing models, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support due diligence processes by assessing sales and pricing levers in potential acquisitions.
 - Post-deal, lead commercial transformations including process optimization, pricing strategies, and structural redesign.
 - Develop actionable strategies that drive competitiveness, profitability, and long-term enterprise value.
 - Build high-performing sales organizations tailored to specific market conditions.
 - Actively lead, coach, and motivate sales teams on-site at portfolio companies.
 - Travel 4 days per week to operational sites across the U.S.
 
Required Skills
- University degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or related technical/quantitative field.
 - 5–7+ years of experience in commercial excellence, sales strategy, or pricing transformation roles.
 - Demonstrated background in automotive or industrial sectors is essential.
 - Strong background in consulting or restructuring environments preferred.
 - Expertise in data-driven decision-making; fluency in Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
 - Fluent in English; German is a plus.
 - High analytical acumen with a pragmatic, execution-focused approach.
 - Strong leadership and change management capabilities.
 - Must be willing and able to travel extensively within the U.S. (typically Mon–Thu).
