About the Role

A global industrial engineering company is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to drive strategic customer relationships and manage technical sales within the steel and long-products sector. This is a permanent, full-time position, involving international client exposure and high autonomy in project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct ongoing customer satisfaction analyses
  • Build and maintain regular client contact through on-site visits
  • Coordinate communication across internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Negotiate with clients, suppliers, and partners on technical and commercial terms
  • Collaborate closely with regional and project management teams
  • Secure new business through lead generation and consultative selling
  • Present and negotiate technical proposals to domestic and international clients
  • Monitor and report on market trends and competitor activity
  • Provide regular reporting to executive leadership and the parent company

Requirements

  • Several years of technical sales experience, ideally in long-products or steel manufacturing
  • Strong network and understanding of the steel/metal industry
  • Proven ability to negotiate and close complex technical deals
  • Strong familiarity with contract law and business negotiation
  • Previous experience in key account management preferred
  • German and English fluency at C1 level
  • Digitally literate with relevant industry-specific systems knowledge
  • High willingness to travel (approximately 70%)
