About the Role
A leading EPC contractor is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a major offshore oil & gas project in Qatar. In this high-responsibility role, you’ll support the project through detailed design, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and handover—ensuring full compliance, safety, and technical excellence across electrical systems and interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate FEED and detailed design documents (SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, etc.)
- Collaborate with OEMs to ensure alignment with electrical specs and standards
- Supervise FAT, SAT, and commissioning of MV/LV switchgear, UPS, transformers, and protection systems
- Oversee system integration and interface with DCS/SCADA, ensuring cybersecurity and compliance
- Provide technical leadership during installation, testing, and final handover phases
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with offshore oil & gas electrical systems
- Deep knowledge of MV/LV design, IEC/IEEE standards, and protection schemes
- Proficiency with ETAP or SKM power system analysis tools
- Familiarity with Shell DEPs and Qatar Petroleum (QP) specifications
- Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and offshore project environments
