Role Overview

We are seeking a high-energy, process-driven Commercial Director / Head of Sales for a 6-month interim role in Amsterdam. This leader will drive a sales transformation, fostering a proactive sales culture while managing a team of 95-100 sales professionals across the Netherlands and Belgium. The team consists of industry-focused hunters, account managers (farmers), and territory salespeople.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and instill a high-performance, proactive sales culture.
  • Implement and optimize sales funnels, activity tracking, and performance management processes.
  • Ensure sales managers are effectively coaching, leading, and holding their teams accountable.
  • Train managers on how to lead, manage, and develop their sales teams.
  • Drive the shift from reactive sales to structured, data-driven sales execution.
  • Implement and manage KPIs, activity metrics, and sales forecasting.
  • Introduce best-in-class sales processes to improve deal conversion and pipeline management.
  • Understand and refine the unique service-based sales model—selling the concept of asset liquidation rather than a direct product.
  • Develop strategies to convince asset owners to list their assets on our platform (similar to recruiting marketplace sellers at Amazon and other digital platforms).
  • Lead the sales transformation under tight timelines.
  • Manage change effectively, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Director, Head of Sales, or Sales Transformation Leader.
  • Expertise in building sales cultures, structuring sales processes, and training managers.
  • Strong track record in managing large sales teams (90+ people) across multiple countries.
  • Ability to drive change in a turnaround situation with a sense of urgency
  • Experience in B2B services, marketplace platforms, or digital sales is a plus.
  • High-energy leader with excellent people management and accountability enforcement.
  • Comfortable with performance-based compensation models (variable component optional).
