We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations for heavy civil infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, roadways, paving, utilities, and public works construction throughout Texas. The Superintendent will be responsible for managing daily construction activities, coordinating crews and subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with project specifications.

The ideal candidate will have strong field leadership experience on TXDOT or municipal infrastructure projects and a proven ability to manage complex construction operations in fast-paced environments

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for heavy civil construction projects including highways, bridges, paving, grading, drainage, and utility work.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, equipment, and field personnel to maintain production goals and project schedules.
  • Develop and manage short-term look-ahead schedules in coordination with Project Managers.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with project plans, specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and monitor workmanship, productivity, and jobsite safety.
  • Coordinate with TXDOT inspectors, engineers, utility companies, and project stakeholders.
  • Manage field logistics, traffic control operations, and sequencing of construction activities.
  • Monitor labor, equipment usage, and material quantities to maintain efficiency and control costs.
  • Lead daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and delays proactively.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, production tracking, and project documentation.
  • Support project closeout activities including punch lists, inspections, and final turnover.
  • Mentor Foremen and field staff while promoting a strong team-oriented jobsite culture.

Your Profile

  • 2+ years of Superintendent or Foreman experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Proven experience managing TXDOT, municipal, roadway, bridge, paving, or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction means and methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Experience coordinating multiple crews and subcontractors simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and jobsite safety management.
  • Proficiency with construction reporting and scheduling software preferred.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced outdoor construction environments.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.

  • Traffic control and MOT operations
  • DOT and public infrastructure projects
  • Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project familiarity
  • Heavy equipment and production management
